Meet Basil: The Gentle Explorer
Basil is a handsome boy who is looking for a home where he can stay right by the side of his brother, Thyme. While he is the slightly less confident member of this charming duo, Basil has a quiet curiosity that is absolutely endearing. He might be the more reserved brother, but his inquisitive nature means he is always the first to investigate any new toys or enrichment left in his enclosure.
Food is a universal language for Basil, and it’s the best way to build a bridge with him. He will happily approach you for a tasty treat or a meal, and it’s during these moments that his brave side really shines. He is also a very active participant in playtime; whether he’s chasing a feather string with you, wrestling with his brother, or batting a ball around by himself, he loves to stay moving.
At this stage in his journey, Basil isn't quite comfortable with being touched or petted yet. He prefers to keep things hands-off while he builds his trust, but we truly believe that in a calm, patient home environment, he will eventually realize just how much he’s missing out on. He is the quieter one of the pair, though he does occasionally pipe up for a chat when he has something important to say.
When he isn’t busy exploring, Basil is a dedicated pro snoozer. He has a real talent for sniffing out the very best nap spots and can often be found stretched out in the sun, soaking up the rays. Basil just needs a little extra time and a lot of love to show his new family what a special, gentle boy he really is.
