ALTERNATIVE LIFESTYLE HOME REQUIRED.
Big T is from a group of cats here in Ashley Heath looking for alternative lifestyle homes after being picked up as a stray. Due to perhaps their parentage and/or lack of early intervention/positive experiences these cats get stressed around people. Staff at the centre have been working with these cats to reduce their fear and get them used to people. Big T is not comfortable being around people, and would be more suitable living an alternative lifestyle that gives him the choice of if and how he interacts.
Big T will need understanding owners that will respect his personal space and accept that he may always be a "hands off" cat. With plentiful resources, positive experiences and his own choice over interactions with humans he may choose to befriend and socially interact with main carers in time.
The alternative homes we are looking for are those which provide an outdoor lifestyle where cats are able to live more independently from people whilst still being supported with food, water, shelter and veterinary care. These homes must allow cats to roam freely without being confined. Alternative homes might include, but are not limited to stables, farms, gardens (with shelter), unused garages, sheds.
The alternative home needs to provide shelter which the cat can always access. The cat will need protection of an indoor space such as a barn/stable/garage/shed where they can be confined in initially whilst they adjust to their new environment before being allowed to explore the bigger outside world. It needs to be weatherproofed and well maintained year-round. Extra sources of warmth should be added to these shelters during cold weather e.g. extra bedding, insulation. The home needs to be free from hazards, and needs to be visited frequently by the adopter and provided with food and water at least daily. The home will also benefit from having differing levels for the cat to sleep and rest on to feel safe.
Not to be rehomed to the RG28 area.
