Meet Cherry, our young Cane Corso. Very friendly and affectionate. Sociable when walking with other dogs but can be quite excitable. Enjoys fuss and attention as well as playing with toys, once she has finished being fussed.
Although a big strong girl, Cherry does walk reasonably nicely on the lead but any new owner must be prepared for any sudden pulling as she is quite strong when she wants to be.
Cherry has been in RSPCA care for just over a year whilst previous owners were being investigated for allegations of neglect. She has spent the past year in another kennels where they reported her to be quite a favourite amongst staff, a big friendly giant. Cherry has been in our care since the middle of March and we agree that she is indeed a BFG.
Unfortunately we do not have any history of previous homelife prior to her arrival into Rspca care.
After being in kennels for quite a length of time, Cherry's new owners will need to be patient and understanding that she will need several months to readjust and settle back into a normal home routine. There may be things that she will be unsure of, she may require some housetraining and at this stage she will require someone at home with her through the day. Cherry is looking for a home with people that have experience and understanding of larger breeds, any children in the home will be 16 years+ Ideally, Cherry would like her own secure garden to be abe to relax in.
Although Cherry has been social with other dogs when out on walks, at this time we would be looking for a home where she is the only dog but with the opportunity to be able to have some doggy friends when out on walks.
Cherry will require neutering prior to going home and will also have have her eye operated on at the same time to fix her Cherry eye.
