Meet Collette, a breathtakingly beautiful one-year-old black cat with a heart that is ready to bloom in the right home. Collette came to us from a busy multi-cat household. When she first arrived, she was incredibly shy, nervous, and completely shut down, but watching her journey has been nothing short of magical. With every single passing day, she is gaining more and more confidence.

​If you want to win Collette over, look no further than the snack cupboard. She is a massive foodie, and tasty treats are the absolute best way to build a bond with her. In fact, she makes sure she is always sitting right at her pod door during feeding times to ensure she is never forgotten. While Collette can still be a little reserved around people, she is becoming much more comfortable. When you visit her in her yard, she is now happy enough to come out and greet you. She has been showing us her wonderfully affectionate side, often doing sweet little head-rubs around items in her yard when you are in her company. Collette isn't quite at the point where she is comfortable being touched or petted by people just yet, but we are entirely confident that in a patient home with an understanding owner, she will learn to absolutely love all the fuss in her own time.

​Collette has also fully mastered the art of solo play. She is very playful and shows a lot of interest when you try to engage her with toys, though she still lacks a tiny bit of confidence to fully let her playful side show around people just yet.

​Because of her background, Collette absolutely loves interacting with her neighboring cats here at the center. We feel she would benefit greatly from living with a friendly, confident feline companion who can show her the ropes and help boost her confidence. She cannot live with dogs and requires a calm, adult-only home with an owner who has some understanding of cat behaviour. If you have the patience, the treats, and a quiet space to offer, Collette will reward you by blossoming into the loyal companion she is destined to be.

Collette would need a room of her own initially so that she can acclimatise to her new home, with all her familiar scents. She will need areas to hide, rest and play.
