Iris is hoping to find herself a new loving home to call her own after 2 years of searching.
Iris can be an affectionate rabbit who enjoys some human companionship, but prefers to have fuss on her terms. Iris will appreciate a family that will be patient with her, who understands rabbit behaviour and can work on building up her trust and a bond.
She enjoys her food, treats and veggie time, particularly when set up in some fun enrichment such as a cardboard box, puzzle feeder or stackable pots. She’s also known to enjoy playing with her football.
With Iris having affected sight in one eye, we have found that she can be easily spooked by people entering her own space without warning.
Iris would be more suited to an adult only household or with older children of secondary age and ideally with no other pets in the home.
Due to her independent character and previous history, Iris has shown to prefer her own space away from other rabbits and will be looking to be the only rabbit in the home. As she will be an only rabbit we will be looking for a home that can spend time with her daily for socialising, plenty of enrichment to keep her entertained and spend a quality amount of time with her new family. For this reason we will be looking at Iris to be a house rabbit. She will need a large safe and secure area (approx 3mx2m or larger), that she is able to exercise in and have plenty of enrichment, any electrical wires or water pipes will need to be protected from chewing. Option to have some safe outdoor exercise in good weather would be beneficial.
**Iris has a cataract in her right eye which is causing her no discomfort**
**Iris has been exposed to Pasteurella, though she has never shown any symptoms she may be a carrier. A vast majority of rabbits will have had exposure to this bacteria but it can cause symptoms/illness in vulnerable/immune suppressed rabbits**
