Iris came into Ashley Heath from a multi household. Iris is happy to have some fuss on her terms and needs a family that will be patient with her and work on building up her trust and a bond. She enjoys her food and veggie time and playing with her football. She can be protective of her enclosure and does like to have her own space. More suited to an adult household with or without older children.
We are looking for her to be housed with a male companion, any bonding will need to be done very slowly and separate accommodation will be required initially.
**Iris has a cataract in her right eye this is causing her no issues**
**Iris has been exposed to Pasteurella, though she has never shown any symptoms she may be a carrier. A vast majority of rabbits will have had exposure to this bacteria but it can cause symptoms/illness in vulnerable/immune suppressed rabbits**
Please note: They will need separate accommodation to start while they are in the bonding process. We can provide guidance on bonding rabbits.
If you are interested in adopting a rabbit from RSPCA Ashley Heath, you would need to have accommodation already in place. A pair of rabbits will require unrestricted access to a space measuring 6ft by 10ft, totalling 60 square feet. This is equivalent to a 6ft by 2ft hutch with an attached 6ft by 8ft run, containing enrichment and furnishings to allow them to hide and exhibit natural behaviour. A converted shed with a run or a rabbit-proofed indoor room would also be appropriate.
** We are now open on an Appointment Only basis, so please do not come to the centre directly. If you are interested in adopting the first step is to fill out a Perfect Match form.
We are doing all home visits virtually so please submit photos of your current accommodation (with dimensions) to our email: ashleyheath@rscpa.org.uk **
