Meet Oakley, a handsome white, red-eyed boy who is approximately one year old and searching for his true forever home. He arrived at the rescue after being found in completely unsuitable living conditions, meaning he didn't get the greatest start to life. Because of his past, Oakley can be a little shy around new people at first, but his resilience is amazing and his confidence is improving day by day. He absolutely adores his treats and is already more than comfortable enough to come right over and gently take a tasty snack directly from your hand.

​Oakley is also officially our cleanest resident and is incredibly house proud. He never toilets in his inside area, strictly preferring to go outside instead. He reserves his indoor space entirely for relaxation, where his favorite hobby is meticulously building a circular nest out of his bedding so he can curl up right in the middle of it for a cozy nap. This boy is a real sweetheart who is generally okay to be picked up, though he can still get a little worried or wriggly at times as he learns that he is safe.

​Because rabbits are naturally social animals, we are looking to rehome Oakley with a lonely female rabbit who can show him the ropes, boost his confidence, and give him a lifelong friend to cuddle with in one of his nice, comfy nests. In the comfort of a dedicated home, Oakley just needs someone patient who can give this gentle soul the chance to fully trust again and live the peaceful, pampered life he always deserved.

If you are interested in adopting a rabbit from RSPCA Ashley Heath, you would need to have accommodation already in place. A pair of rabbits will require unrestricted access to a space measuring 6ft by 10ft, totalling 60 square feet. This is equivalent to a 6ft by 2ft hutch with an attached 6ft by 8ft run, containing enrichment and furnishings to allow them to hide and exhibit natural behaviour. A converted shed with a run or a rabbit-proofed indoor room would also be appropriate.
