About Me
| Breed: | Mastiff |
|---|---|
| Colour: | Black |
| Age: | 1 Year (approx) |
| Ref: | ANI03456 |
Sabrina was originally removed from a property due to her welfare needs not being met at a very young age. She has not had the best start in life and has not been exposed to the usual life experiences she should have by this age as she has predominantly grown up in a shelter environment.
Sabrina is a friendly and exuberant girl but she can lack confidence at times and will need time and consistency to work through things at her pace. She is fearful of cars and travel so once settled she will need a patient approach to continue her training and a home that dosen't need to travel her initially. She will take time to settle into her new home as she has minimal experience of home living so it will all be very new to her and she will have to learn a whole new way of life.
She will need to be settled into a home before being gently and gradually exposed to new sights and sounds, helping her to grow in confidence.
Sabrina’s new owners will need to be keen to learn, have patience, understanding and enough time to take on a teenage dog and help her transition into a home. Sabrina is looking for a home with experience of adolescent dogs who have owned/have previous experience of larger breed dogs and some worried/nervous behaviour. Some experience with sheltered rescue dogs would be advantageous. She could live with another dog that is social, calm and may be a good guide for her and help with her confidence pending successful meets at the centre.
Sabrina is still young and lacks some foundational experiences and training due to her life experience so far. She will require someone at home through the day to help settle and continue her toilet training.
Sabrina is a very clever girl who love to learn new things so would benefit from a home who has an interest in training or other outlet such as scent work. She is a mischievous little lady with a lot of love to give.
The home will need to be calm and predictable offering stability and routine. Any children in the home will need to be older teenagers (16 years+) with an understanding of large breeds and their puppy mouthing. We are looking to rehome Sabrina within a 40 mile radius to the centre to offer support post adoption.
Sabrina currently weighs 31.5kg.
Not to be rehomed within 5 miles of BH23
