Meet our charming Simba!

Full of personality and truly one-of-a-kind, this charming little Bulldog / FBD is sure to keep you smiling. Simba has a heart of gold and an even bigger appetite.

Simba’s rough start in life hasn’t squashed his spirit. He shares his vibrant energy and affection with everyone he encounters, regardless of whether they are humans or dogs of any size. A truly impressive companion, he is particularly helpful for other dogs who require additional support during walks and socialisation. When he isn't busy making new friends, he loves nothing more than walking right by your side and receiving a good bum scratch. Always ready to keep pace with you, this energetic little Bulldog loves nothing more than heading out on his daily walks. In addition to having excellent recall, Simba demonstrates good manners while walking on a lead. He lacks some basic life skills but he really enjoys learning how to use his brain.

A highlight of his day is heading out for walks with his beloved red Kong ball, which he carries with immense pride as his absolute favorite possession, it gives him a great chewing outlet and helps him cope with the frustrations of kennel life. He is currently making excellent progress in learning to be polite and not greet hands with an open mouth when they are offered as it his strong belief that every hand might contain a treat remains a constant motivator for him. He was emaciated when he came to us so developed an insatiable appetite which is common with dogs that have experienced a lack of food.

Simba is ideally looking for a family that has some experience with brachycephalic breeds and their specific needs. This would be advantageous but not essential.
Due to his breed, he requires daily cleaning of his tail folds to prevent skin irritations, and his new adopters must be prepared to maintain this essential routine. Additionally, to manage his sensitive skin, he receives a special topical mousse three times a week. Simba actually looks forward to these sessions, as he thoroughly enjoys the extra attention. He has had some surgeries on his face to improve his airways and he has a great nose for searching.
Simba has had surgery on his face to improve his breathing which he coped with really well. He has a few allergies so eats a strict Z/D prescription diet which he loves. Despite these restrictions, he still manages to savor every single bite. His new family will need to bear in mind that due to his breed and sensitivities there will likely be some additional cost for his food and medical needs.

Simba does have exaggerated physical features which can cause health and welfare problems. They may require long-term care and continued veterinary treatment.

He has typical bulldog traits and can seem unassuming but can suddenly have a burst of energy. He has some quirks to his personality that need some understanding, but he is a smart little chap who is truly funny at heart.
