Meet Buckwheat & Flax �💕

Buckwheat and Flax are a sweet and very bonded pair of gerbils who were rescued from a property by one of our officers, along with lots of other gerbils.

These two are both inquisitive little characters who love coming out of their burrows to see what’s going on. They will happily sniff your fingers and investigate your hand when you’re topping up their food and water. They particularly enjoy digging and creating their own burrows, as well as gnawing on cardboard and, of course, they absolutely love mealworms!

Buckwheat is easy to catch and hold, while Flax can be a little trickier to catch and is still building his confidence with handling. They are incredibly bonded and do everything together – they eat, sleep, burrow and even drink their water side by side!

Buckwheat and Flax would love a home where they can continue to enjoy plenty of enrichment, digging opportunities and lots of cardboard to keep their busy little minds occupied. Most importantly, they need to stay together so they can continue their special friendship. 💕

PLEASE NOTE - Our centre is appointment only. We ideally like cattery/small animals to go home within one week of application (however, this may be evaluated on a case by case basis) - so please only apply if you are in a position to adopt within a reasonable time frame. Due to a high volume of applications and emails we are unable to discuss the animals any further until we have received your completed application form. We receive a large number of applications for each animal, if you have not heard within 7 days of submitting your application form you have been unsuccessful on this occasion, please keep a check on the website as this is updated daily.
