Chia is a beautiful, shy little gerbil who is looking for a patient and loving home where she can continue to build her confidence and, most importantly, find a friend of her own.

Chia was rescued from a property where several gerbils were being kept together, with males and females housed in the same groups. As we were unsure whether Chia could be pregnant, she has remained in our care throughout the appropriate gestation period, and we are now happy to say that she is not pregnant and is ready to find her forever home.

Chia is naturally nervous and can be quite shy, but she has already made some lovely progress while in foster care. She enjoys sitting safely in her little den and watching the world go by, but if you sit beside her tank and talk to her, her curiosity often gets the better of her and she'll come out to investigate. 💕

This gorgeous girl absolutely loves to chew and explore. She enjoys creating tunnels and racing through them — and she is FAST! She'll keep you entertained as she busily explores her surroundings and gets stuck into all the enrichment her home has to offer.

Chia is looking for a home with someone who understands that she may take a little time to settle and gain confidence. With patience, gentle interaction and plenty of enrichment, we believe this lovely girl will continue to blossom.

Most importantly, Chia is desperate for a gerbil companion she can call her own. She will need to be carefully introduced and bonded with a suitable companion so that she doesn't have to be alone.

PLEASE NOTE - Our centre is appointment only. We ideally like cattery/small animals to go home within one week of application (however, this may be evaluated on a case by case basis) - so please only apply if you are in a position to adopt within a reasonable time frame. Due to a high volume of applications and emails we are unable to discuss the animals any further until we have received your completed application form. We receive a large number of applications for each animal, if you have not heard within 7 days of submitting your application form you have been unsuccessful on this occasion, please keep a check on the website as this is updated daily.
