Meet our dashingly handsome boy Dennis! He came into our care after being reported by his feeder as he had a wound to his head. This was a burst abscess which has since been treated at our animal hospital. He also had a poorly eye which has resolved with treatment.
Dennis is a lovable rogue - his charisma oozes from him and you can't help but fall in love with his tough boy bravado! He has been in our care since February but has known to get a little frustrated with life in the cattery. He is quite protective over his pod space but when we spend time with him in his run he is much happier. He also has the added bonus of being allowed out onto the main cattery floor for extra space! We can see he is a loving lad who chooses to spend time with you. He will rub around you and climb onto your lap, and will also roll around right next to you showing you his belly; but he does also have a low tolerance and will let you know when he has had enough fuss, and then he will happily go about doing his own thing.
We are looking for a very special, adult only home for this lad, with experienced owners that can understand his body language, give him the time and space for him to settle, and don't mind his independant low tolerant behaviour every now and then - (he likes to keep his servants in check!) but we do think that once he has his freedom to go outside and explore, his frustration may subside. The history we gained from his feeder is that he did used to come into their house,so this is really useful to know so we can choose the right home for him going forward - as we are aware being cooped up in a tiny cattery pod can be worlds apart from the life some cats used to have! Considering he came in with a likely cat bite abscess - Dennis is a charmer with the cats in the cattery, he will chirrup to every cat he sees and even flirts with a few! - so we think he would enjoy a feline friend in his new home.
Despite his cheeky personality, it is clear that this boy has plenty of room in his heart and when he decides that he would like a fuss, he simply just melts into your hand and purrs away. Dennis is a character but thats what makes him more loveable - you could call him Dennis the Menace 😆
