Wow! Meet Murphy! As an Akita crossbreed (likely mixed with a mastiff of some sort), Murphy is a truly awe inspiring dog. Despite being in kennels for over a year while his welfare case ran it's course, Murphy has emerged as an independent, yet people social, extremely intelligent lad with a really cheeky playful side - like his beer namesake, ''He's not bitter!'' People who enjoy the independent and 'wise' Akita traits along with the distinctly 'grown-up' relationship that humans can have with these dogs will not be disappointed in Murphy!Â
Murphy is a real ladies-man. He is playful and tolerant with females, even bordering on flirty and it would be possible for him to live with a suitably matched female dog in an experienced home. Murphy is not too keen on male dogs but can tolerate their presence while out on walks.Â
We are looking for adult, breed-experienced adopters for Murphy with the time to put into settling him into a new home and lifestyle. Adopters will need to be active and physically capable of handling this lovely big chunker - he does weigh over 40kg and has the strength of a dog in his prime!
We believe that owning Murphy will be a truly rewarding and life-changing experience. Please get in touch to help this lad start a new life and to change yours!
