Margot (Black) & Perdy (Black & white) Were signed over to our care with several other cats from the home because the owner had too many and they were no longer able to look after them. When they arrived they were both suffering from mild cat flu symptoms and they were both very scared. They were placed into a loving foster home so they could experience a loving home and have one to one attention with lots of time, love and TLC.
They are now ready for the next step of their journey and this is what the foster carer has to say about them:
Perdy and Margot are bonded boys who like to sleep next to one another and groom each other.
Margot is more confident of the two boys and will seek his carer/ person out around home , he can be like a shadow. Margot has gained a lot of confidence in the last 4 weeks at home , this in turn has given Perdy confidence .This means they will both greet you at the door after being out and follow you around the house for a stroke or chase of the ball you must throw to them!
Margot is very food motivated and can be encouraged to engage via this. Margot needs guidance that when his human is eating it is not food for him as he can be a little persistent. This has been dissuaded by feeding the boys when I eat so they don’t focus on my food . Also gentle no and distraction with a toy or
treat or their own , away from where I eat.
Margot loves to play and will chase small balls , chase dangly toys, he loves been groomed and is currently into lots of cuddles on the sofa for short periods of time. He and Purdy liven up in the evening and can often been seen doing zoomies throughout home and chasing each other and balls.
Perdy is very shy and looks to Margot to take the lead and gains confidence when with Margo is around. Perdy does not like noisy environments and sudden movements near him still startle him currently and at these moments he will hide.
Perdy loves his food and treats and is motivated by this, however Margot can be a bit pushy and sometimes tries to eat his food as well as Perdy’s . Therefore its important to monitor that Perdy gets his own food .
Perdy likes to play when he feels safe and relaxed often with Margo joining in. Perdy likes to hide under the sofa where a sheet is draped and have toys dangled to catch or gentle movements on the sheet which he than loves to try and catch .
Perdy is an observer and will hide in the smallest of places and watch. He likes a quiet environment and loves to look out window he will stay there for quite a while. He also enjoys the zoomies and chasing Margo around the home generally in the evening. Does like head scritches an strokes but on his terms. Perdy is slowly gaining confidence and is very gentle .
They are very gentle , loveable young boys who will make any home a pleasure to be in . They need a calm home with a routine in feeding and lots of games and comfort available and areas they can go to decompress and chill out . I think with time they will continue to gain confidence and greater interactions with their humans they just need patience .
