Meet Bear… the boy who’s still waiting 💔
When Bear arrived with us, he wasn’t alone. He had his brother by his side, his comfort, his confidence, his constant. We watched as his brother found his forever home, walking away into a new life leaving Bear still searching for his.
And Bear?
He stayed behind.
Since that day, Bear has been the one watching kennel doors open, hoping, just quietly hoping — that it might finally be his turn.
He is a big, beautiful boy with the most gentle manners. The kind of dog who sits politely, who tries so hard to do the right thing, who looks up at you wanting to please. He can be a little shy when he first meets you. We believe his hesitancy comes from experiences in his past that weren’t always kind. It’s as though he wants to trust — he just needs someone patient enough to show him he’s safe.
Despite everything, Bear is non-reactive on group walks and walks alongside other dogs without fuss. He would love to be the only pet in his new home though — not because he doesn’t like others, but because he’s never truly had something that was just his. He deserves to be someone’s whole world.
He can be strong on the lead, simply because he’s a big boy — but his heart is soft. He knows some commands and tries so hard to please. And when he leans into you for a cuddle, resting his big head against you, you can feel just how much love he has been holding onto.
Bear also has a low-grade heart murmur. It doesn’t need treatment right now, and it doesn’t stop him enjoying life. But something that new owners will need to monitor.
What Bear needs isn’t extraordinary. Just a quiet home. Gentle hands. Someone who won’t give up on him. Someone who will let him take that first unsure step forward and show him that this time, he’s home for good.
He has watched his brother leave.
He has watched others be chosen.
Now he is waiting for someone to choose him.
Please don’t let Bear spend any longer in a kennel. He is ready to give his whole heart to someone who will finally give him theirs. 🐻💛
The adoption fee for him is £200.
