Meet a dog who has already lived through more heartbreak than any soul ever should.
When Bear was found, he was alone in an empty property, frightened, shut down, and waiting for someone who never came back for him. Neighbours believe he had been there for at least a week with no food, no fresh water, and no human comfort. No kind words. No gentle touch. Just silence and abandonment.
It would have been understandable if he had given up on people completely. But somehow, despite everything, his sweet nature is still there.
He is a sensitive boy who takes time to trust. New people and new situations can feel overwhelming for him, and he needs someone patient enough to let him move at his own pace. But when that trust finally comes, it is something truly special. The frightened dog disappears, and in his place is the most loving, loyal companion you could imagine.
Once he bonds with you, he absolutely adores affection. He will lean into your touch, paw at you if you dare stop tickling him, and quietly ask for the love he went without for so long. Watching him learn that he is safe, that someone is staying this time, is both beautiful and heartbreaking.
He loves long walks where he can explore the world at his own pace, and nothing makes him happier than throwing himself into the grass for a good roll… especially if he can find something particularly disgusting to cover himself in first. Beneath his nervous exterior is a dog who wants to enjoy life so badly.
Because of his sensitive nature, he is looking for a calm adult-only home with people who understand that love, patience, and kindness can heal even the deepest wounds. He may be able to live with another dog depending on introductions.
More than anything, he needs someone who will never abandon him again. Someone who will see past the fear and give him the safe, loving forever home he has always deserved.
After everything he has been through, we would love nothing more than for his story to finally have a happy ending.
