Max is a young, bright and energetic collie that sadly arrived into our care through no fault of his own. Abandoned by his previous owner at a young age Max has missed key socialisation opportunities, but with some gentle work from our team at the centre is making steady progress, we are now looking to find him an experienced home where he can enjoy life as he should.

Max thrives on activity and structure, but can take a bit of time to settle when other dogs are present. He has shown a love of playing with both footballs and tennis balls - though they sometimes are too much fun and he may delay fetching them back. Given time in a quieter space is when Max can truly settle. When away from the busy day-to-day, he has a very affectionate nature and proven responsive to clicker training also.

Whilst in our care Max has been fortunate to spend some time in a foster home. During this period he was described as being clean and calm in the home. Often resting alongside his foster carers. When out on walks, Max was manageable on lead but known to display mild reactivity towards other dogs on occasion - barking and pulling in their general direction. However, he has been showing progress in this area at our centre and successful applicants will receive additional information to best support Max with this in the future.

Max is best suited to an adult only home with adopters that are experienced and understanding of his drive to be active. A secure garden space would also be desirable to provide a safe space and outlet for additional energy. After some time to settle, Max may also enjoy additional hobbies such as agility, hoopers or even scent work such as mantrailing to keep him mentally engaged and enriched.
