Say hello to Ripley, through no fault of his own he is our longest stay resident here at Block Fen! This handsome boy is still looking for a forever home full of love, toys and adventures!

Ripley is a lovely, confident boy and doesn't understand why no one has picked him yet! He is such a gentleman and just wants to be involved with whatever you are up to! No matter what the weather, rain or shine, he is ready to go! He possesses a wonderfully inquisitive nature and revels in exploring new and stimulating environments. You'll often find him trotting off to investigate a fresh scent or area before circling back to his trusted handlers for a cuddle.
He may take a little longer to build a bond with his handler but once he does he is truly a polite, gentle giant who is sensitive with those he trusts. This is particularly noticeable when it comes to having his harness or lead put on, and he melts for a quiet moment of fuss and attention.

While Ripley can take a little longer to process and respond to instructions, his willingness to learn is undeniable. With a consistent and positive routine, he is already making great progress in mastering basic obedience skills. He is highly motivated by play and treats, responding well to a football or a bit of cheese! He has been quickly grasping new concepts as his handlers dedicate more time to his training. So far he knows how to sit, wait, both paws, go through tunnels and between your legs and sometimes he knows to do these with hand signals, not just vocal commands! Some of Ripley's winning tricks were even featured during Block Fen's Easter competition which can be seen on our Facebook page!

To ensure Ripley has the very best chance at getting his long awaited forever home, we are specifically seeking a home that can offer both the physical space and emotional resilience needed for a dog of his size and strength. It is essential that his new owners are confident and comfortable managing a strong breed. Ripley is a dog with an immense capacity for love and devotion; he simply requires the right secure, reassuring environment to help his wonderful, true personality shine through! Previous experience with strong large breeds is desirable.

Ripley has shown some great social skills with female dogs and could possibly live with another large breed, high energy dog but it would depend on introductions here at the centre.

The adoption fee for this dog is £200
