Turkey is a gentle but nervous cat. We believe she has had limited human interaction in her life and, although we are seeing small progress with her confidence, she is still avoidant towards people. We are working hard to show her that humans are not as scary as she thinks, and are looking for her potential adopters to continue this journey with her.

When Turkey is uncomfortable, she will usually freeze before quietly removing herself from the situation. When Turkey feels calm and settled, she will eat treats out of your hand while you stroke her. Turkey is just unsure, and prefers to observe from a safe distance while she builds trust at her own pace. Because of this, Turkey will need a calm and patient home where her boundaries will be respected, and she can settle in slowly without pressure.

Turkey would benefit from experienced adopters who understand shy cats and are willing to give her the time, space, and reassurance she needs. A quiet home with plenty of hiding spots and a predictable routine would help her feel secure.
