Bonnie is a 9 year old, Ginger and white long hair, who is looking for her forever home due to no fault of her own. Bonnie is naturally timid with new people and in new environments. She needs a patient owner who understands that she won't be an "instant" lap cat. However, her personality changes significantly once she trusts you; she becomes highly vocal and communicative, frequently "chatting" with people here at the centre. Because loud noises and sudden movements can startle her, we believe a home with calm, respectful older children (aged 14 years and above) would be the most suitable fit. Younger children's unpredictable movements and noise levels would be too much for her.
While she must be kept strictly indoors until she has fully and securely settled into her new environment, as we have no clear history on her previous experiences with the outside world. Once she is completely secure and confident within the home, and if she shows a strong, undeniable desire to explore, her new family would need to be open to the possibility of offering her outdoor access.
With a careful, gradual introduction, Bonnie could potentially share her home with another calm resident cat. However, we are certain that a dog would be too overwhelming and stressful for her delicate nature, and we will only consider homes without dogs. As a long-haired cat, she requires regular brushing to maintain her coat and prevent matting.
