This stunning ginger boy, Clementine, is a delightful 2-year-old male Domestic Shorthair. Clementine's journey to us was alongside his three brothers.
Upon his initial arrival in our care, Clementine, like many cats adjusting to a new environment, was understandably timid and sought comfort in familiar spaces. His favoured sanctuary was initially behind his blanket, where he could observe his surroundings safely.
However, in the short time he has been with us, Clementine has blossomed into a wonderfully sweet and affectionate companion. The shy cat who once hid has been replaced by a charming greeter. Now, as soon as staff members enter his pen, Clementine will enthusiastically greet them with soft, welcoming chirps, actively soliciting attention and fuss.
While Clementine is an affectionate boy, he can still display moments of shyness in new or unfamiliar situations. Because of this, we believe he would thrive in a home with compassionate and patient individuals. We are specifically seeking a household with older, school-aged children (ideally aged 11 and above). It is important that these children have previous experience interacting with cats and understand the need to allow Clementine to approach on his own terms. A calm and predictable environment will allow him to feel safe and secure, helping his confidence continue to grow.
Clementine has previously enjoyed outdoor access and the freedom to explore his surroundings. Therefore, we are looking for a forever home situated in a safe and suitable area where he can once again enjoy supervised or appropriate outdoor adventures. Access to a garden or safe outdoor space is a requirement for his well-being, allowing him to satisfy his natural curiosity and need for exploration.
With careful and correct introductions, we believe he could potentially live harmoniously with another cat. Furthermore, he may also be suitable to live with a cat-savvy dog, provided the dog is calm and respectful of a cat's boundaries. Any introductions must be handled slowly and sensitively to ensure a smooth transition for all animals involved.
