This charming young man is Jaffa, a strikingly handsome two-year-old ginger Domestic Shorthair. Jaffa, along with his three brothers, arrived in our care some time ago, and out of the quartet, he is undoubtedly the most timid and reserved.

When Jaffa first came to us, he was, understandably, extremely nervous and wary of his new surroundings. His initial shyness was profound, but in the short time he has been with us, we have seen encouraging glimmers of improvement. His confidence is a work in progress, but he is making slow, steady steps forward. He is now beginning to accept gentle fuss and attention from his regular, trusted carers, demonstrating that deep down, he is capable of forming bonds. The ideal adopter will need to appreciate that while he is improving, he still requires a lot of patience and understanding to help him continue on this journey of socialisation.

Due to his deeply timid nature, we are carefully seeking a specific type of home environment for Jaffa. We feel he would thrive best with older children, aged 14 and above, who possess a calm demeanour and, ideally, have previous experience living with nervous or shy cats. A quiet, predictable household will be essential to allow him to settle in at his own pace without feeling overwhelmed.

We know from his previous history that Jaffa has enjoyed the freedom of outdoor access. Therefore, we are looking for a forever home situated in a safe and suitable area where he can eventually explore the world securely once he has fully bonded with his new family.

Jaffa has the potential to live alongside another calm, resident cat, provided that the introductions are handled very slowly, carefully, and sensitively. However, given his skittish disposition, we strongly believe that a dog would be far too much for him to cope with and would significantly hinder his progress. He needs a peaceful sanctuary to truly relax and flourish. Jaffa is a sweet boy who simply needs a patient, loving adopter who will give him the time and space he needs to blossom into the wonderful companion we know he can be.
