When Lily first arrived in our care, she was understandably very timid. Her initial reaction was to seek out a safe hiding spot, shying away from any human interaction or attention. However, her true, affectionate nature began to surface remarkably quickly. Thanks to the patience and gentle approach of her carers, she soon started to build trust. Now, it takes her no time at all to greet and interact with her human friends, thoroughly enjoying all the fuss, head-scratches, and attention that comes her way.
We believe that Lily would be best suited to a home with children of secondary school age or older, as they are generally calmer and more understanding of a cat's need for space and gentle interaction.
With a careful and gradual introduction, we feel Lily could potentially share her home with another calm, cat-savvy feline. However, based on her personality and history, we believe that living with a dog would be too overwhelming and stressful for her, and she would prefer a dog-free environment.
Lily will initially need to remain indoors for a period to allow her to fully settle in, become comfortable with her new surroundings, and bond with her adopters. We are uncertain of the extent of her previous experience with the outside world. Once she is completely settled and showing confident, relaxed behaviour within the home, if she exhibits a strong and persistent desire to explore, her new adopters must understand that allowing her safe outdoor access is in her best interest to fulfil her natural instincts.
