Loki is a handsome six year old male domestic shorthair with a black and white coat. He initially came into our care after his previous welfare needs were unfortunately not being met, leaving him in need of a fresh start and a loving family.

When he first arrived at the centre, Loki was extremely shut down, deeply frightened, and overwhelmed by his new surroundings. However, throughout his time with us, he has been making steady, heart-warming progress every day. He is slowly but surely discovering that people aren't so scary after all and is beginning to open up to his carers. We are now searching for a calm, quiet, and predictable home environment where he can feel completely secure and continue to learn and grow in confidence at his own pace.

Among Loki's absolute favourite activities are sitting up high on his cat wall, where he can safely observe the world, and playing through the glass with his feline neighbours. He is also incredibly foodie and has proven to be an absolute wiz with puzzle feeders, which keep his mind active. He certainly won't hesitate to playfully mug you for extra treats once he knows you!

For his safety and peace of mind, Loki would need to remain strictly indoors until he has fully settled and adjusted to his new home. If he later shows a strong and consistent desire for outdoor access, his new family must understand that this opportunity must be given to support his essential welfare needs and overall well-being.

Given his naturally timid nature, we feel Loki would be best suited to a household with older teenagers who have prior experience with cats and know exactly how to respect their boundaries. With a correct and gradual introduction process, we feel he could happily live alongside another calm resident cat for company. However, the presence of a dog would be far too overwhelming and stressful for him, so he requires a dog-free home.
