About Me

Breed: Domestic Shorthair crossbreed
Colour: Black
Age: 1 Year (approx)
Ref: ANI02964

This stunning one-year-old female is Mrs Norris, a beautiful black domestic longhair cat. Like many cats who find themselves in a rescue environment, Mrs Norris had a very difficult start. When she first arrived in our care, she was understandably very fearful, shut down, and completely overwhelmed. She was extremely reluctant to engage in any form of human interaction and would spend most of her time hidden away.
We are delighted to report that in the time she has been with us, Mrs Norris has made truly remarkable progress—she has come on in leaps and bounds! Initially, the only way to engage her was through the careful offering of delicious treats, which she would hesitantly accept. However, with the patience and gentle persistence of her dedicated care team, she has flourished. She is now starting to emerge from her hiding spot specifically for fuss and attention, but only from the people she knows and trusts. This significant milestone demonstrates the potential she has to bond deeply with her future family.
Due to her inherently sensitive and reserved nature, we are seeking a specific type of home environment for Mrs Norris. We believe she would be best suited to a household with older teenagers (aged 14 years and over) who can understand and respect her boundaries. She needs a quiet, calm, and predictable home where she won't be constantly startled or overwhelmed.
We feel that Mrs Norris would greatly benefit from the mental stimulation and physical exercise that outdoor access provides. Therefore, we are looking for a home located in a safe and relatively quiet area where she can eventually explore her surroundings securely. It is vital that her new family understands the importance of keeping her strictly indoors for an initial, extended period until she has completely settled, bonded with her family, and established a sense of security in her new territory.
We believe that with the correct, slow, and careful introduction process, Mrs Norris could possibly live alongside another calm, resident cat. This introduction must be managed sensitively to avoid causing her unnecessary stress. However, given her timidity and tendency to become overwhelmed, we are certain that a dog would be far too much for her to cope with.
