About Me

Breed: Domestic Shorthair crossbreed
Colour: Black
Age: 2 Years (approx)
Ref: ANI03738

This stunning feline is Mystique, a beautiful two-year-old female Domestic Shorthair with a sleek, black coat. Mystique arrived in our care as part of a multi-cat household transfer, and the initial adjustment to her new environment was understandably overwhelming.

Upon arrival, Mystique was very timid, often "shut down" and quite scared. However, with patient care and a calm environment, it didn't take long for her truly sweet and affectionate personality to emerge. She has blossomed into a loving companion who thoroughly enjoys quiet affection and is a true expert in "making biscuits" (kneading) on her favourite blankets, a clear sign of her contentment.

Due to her initially timid nature, Mystique requires a home that can offer her a peaceful and predictable environment. She would be best suited to a family with older children, specifically those aged 11 and above, who have previous experience living with cats and understand the need to give a shy cat space and time to adjust. A calm, adult-only home would also be ideal.

Mystique would need to remain strictly indoors for an initial period to allow her to fully settle into her new surroundings and bond with her adopters. A key consideration for her potential adopter is the understanding that while she starts indoors, if she begins to show a strong, persistent desire to explore the outdoors as she gains confidence, this outdoor access would need to be safely provided for her long-term welfare and happiness.

With careful and correct introduction methods, Mystique has the potential to live harmoniously with another calm, feline-friendly cat. However, given her history and shy disposition, we believe that the presence of a dog would be too overwhelming and stressful for her, and she must be rehomed into a dog-free household. Mystique is a wonderful girl who simply needs a quiet, patient, and loving family to help her continue to flourish.
