About Me

Breed: Domestic Semi crossbreed
Colour: Black
Age: 6-12 Months
Ref: ANI04540

This beautiful girl is Puffin, a charming 10 month old black and white domestic shorthair. She first arrived in our care as a young mother with her single kitten. Now that her kitten has found her independence, Puffin is ready to focus on herself and find a dedicated forever home where she can truly settle down.

Puffin's journey with us has been one of gradual progress; upon arrival, she was incredibly timid, choosing to hide away and avoiding any form of human attention. While she remains a naturally nervous and sensitive soul, she has made wonderful strides and now actively seeks out affection and "fuss" from the people she has learned to trust. Once she feels secure, she reveals her very sweet nature and particularly enjoys a good chin scratch.

Due to her delicate and nervous personality, Puffin requires a calm and predictable household. We feel she would be best suited to a home with older, quiet children (aged 14 and over) who have previous experience living with cats and understand how to respect a feline's boundaries.

To ensure her safety and help her build confidence, Puffin will need to remain strictly indoors initially until she has fully acclimated to her new surroundings and bonded with her adopters. We have limited information regarding her past experience with the outside world. However, if she eventually displays a strong desire to explore once settled, her new family must be prepared to allow her safe outdoor access, as providing this enrichment would be in her best interest.

In terms of other pets, Puffin has shown that she could potentially live with another compatible cat if introduced correctly and gradually. However, we firmly believe that the high energy and presence of a dog would be far too overwhelming for her and would cause her unnecessary stress.
