Shelly is at heart a very sweet and deeply affectionate cat. Once she trusts you, she loves to be close and enjoys gentle interaction. However, her past experiences mean she is still easily overwhelmed by too much excitement or sudden changes. She can become conflicted when her desire for affection clashes with her underlying anxiety, which can unfortunately result in overstimulation. This is a key consideration for her future home.
To ensure Shelly's continued success and happiness, we are seeking a specific type of home environment. Due to her sensitivity to overstimulation, we believe a home with calm, respectful older children (aged 14 years and above) would be the most suitable fit. Younger children's unpredictable movements and noise levels would be too much for her.
While she must be kept strictly indoor until she has fully and securely settled into her new environment, we strongly believe Shelly is a cat who would greatly benefit from outdoor access in the long term. This provides essential mental and physical enrichment. Therefore, we are looking for a permanent home located in a safe, low-traffic residential area where she can explore the outdoors securely once ready.
Shelly could potentially live with another cat, but any introduction would require care and a slow, gradual approach. However, due to her sensitive nature, we are certain that a home with a dog would be too stressful and overwhelming for her.
