This handsome boy is Smudge, a four year old black and white domestic shorthair, who is eagerly searching for his new forever home.

Smudge arrived in our care through no fault of his own. He is an exceptionally sweet and affectionate boy who has an abundance of love to offer his new family. His playful and enthusiastic nature means he is often seen bouncing around chasing his favourite toys, though he is equally content curled up warmly on your lap enjoying a good fuss and cuddles. When he isn't playing or snuggling, you will almost certainly find him happily spending time at his food bowl, as he is a big fan of his meals and treats.

While he is loving and eager for affection, Smudge is quite clear about his personal boundaries and does not enjoy being picked up or physically restrained. For this reason, we feel he would thrive best in a home with secondary school-aged children or older who are experienced with cats and can understand, respect, and give him space when he needs it.

We do not have detailed information regarding Smudge’s past outdoor experience, so he must remain strictly indoors initially while he fully settles, builds confidence, and adjusts to his new surroundings. Following this settling-in period, if he begins to display a strong and consistent desire to explore the outdoors, it is vital that his new owners understand and fulfill this requirement to support his health and essential welfare needs in a safe environment.

Given a careful and gradual introduction process, we feel Smudge has the potential to happily share his home with another resident cat and/or a calm, cat-savvy dog.
