Meet Benny, a handsome Cocker Spaniel, aged approximately 4-6 years old.

Benny originally came into our care due to poor living conditions. He has spent over 300 days with us while his ongoing case was resolved, and he is now officially signed over and ready to find his forever home.

Benny is a sweet boy with lots of character. However, he has shown signs of resource guarding, so he will need an experienced, adult-only home that understands this behaviour and can manage it appropriately.

He is a busy, active boy who needs plenty of stimulation. Potential adopters must be prepared to provide both the physical exercise and - most importantly - the mental enrichment he needs to stay happy and balanced. Benny is always on the go and very much a working dog at heart. He would thrive in a home that can keep his mind occupied with activities such as scent work and other enrichment-based tasks.

Benny can be sensitive around his legs, but he is slowly learning that touch isn't something to fear. He will need a patient and understanding owner who ensures that all handling is consent-based and at his pace.

While he mostly ignores other dogs when out on walks, Benny would prefer to be the only dog in the home, as he enjoys having his own space.
