Introducing Lizard!

This lovely lad is a typical 8-month-old Lurcher, always on the go, full of life, and a wonderfully wriggly boy! He's at that fun (and busy!) adolescent stage where everything is exciting and the world is one big adventure.

Lizard enjoys food and treats, though he isn't overly food motivated. He will benefit from an owner who is committed to using positive training methods to help him learn how to be a calmer, more focused companion, especially reinforcing keeping all four paws on the floor when he gets excited.

Lizard is still very young and can become a little frustrated when he's unsure what's expected of him. Because of this, he needs a patient and understanding owner who can guide him, help him understand the world and support him as he matures. In busier environments with lots of dogs around, he can feel a bit overwhelmed.

He has walked nicely alongside dogs both at the centre and off-site. In busier environments with lots of dogs around, he can feel a bit overwhelmed and will begin to whine, potential adopters will need to continue to teach him that he can walk around other dogs without having to meet them everytime.

Lizard may be able to live with other dogs, this would be dependant on meets at the centre. He would also be able to live with children, however, due to him being bouncy and jumping up, he would be best suited to older children of secondary school age.

This lovely boy will thrive in an active home that can continue his training, socialisation, and give him the structure he needs to grow into a fantastic adult companion.
