Meet Simba!

This lovely 10-year-old boy is looking for a peaceful retirement home where he can enjoy the quieter side of life. His microchip states he is an Irish Wolfhound x Alaskan Malamute. He would thrive in a fairly calm environment, as he can be a little sensitive to novelty for example, he has previously shown some uncertainty around overhead lights, and we've seen a little of this when he notices lights in reception. A predictable, relaxed home would suit him best.

He hasn't shown any concerns around people or handling and presents as a fairly easy-going, gentle dog. His current weight may be contributing to his laid-back nature, and as he becomes more physically comfortable through weight loss, he may show a bit more energy.

He will need support to continue his weight-loss journey in his new home, along with regular grooming to keep him feeling his best. He's been great in the shower and is used to being rinsed off daily.

He walks beautifully on the lead and settles well in his kennel, so he may be comfortable being left alone for short periods once settled.

He could potentially live with sensible children aged 8+, depending on the household. He may also be able to live with another dog following successful introductions.
