Meet Toby
Toby has been in RSPCA care since June 2024 as part of an investigation, but he's finally ready to find his forever home.
Toby is a sweet Patterdale with all the classic terrier traits. He absolutely loves his walks and is happiest when exploring on a long line, nose glued to the ground as he follows every exciting scent through the grass.
He really enjoys time spent with his handlers and visibly lights up when someone familiar is nearby; he's a dog who forms strong bonds and thrives on positive human connection.
Toby can walk out alongside other dogs, although his social skills can sometimes be a little too enthusiastic rather than polite. He'll benefit from a handler who can step in and guide him if his interactions become overwhelming for other dogs.
He's a clever boy and has already proven how capable he is by smashing his training plan to help desensitise him to the hoover, which he previously found scary. Successful adopters will be shown how to continue this plan at home, helping Toby feel settled and confident in his new environment.
With the right guidance, routine, and understanding of his terrier nature, Toby will make a loyal, fun, and rewarding companion.
