The original Orphan Annie was known for her optimism, one of her favorite sayings being ‘The sun'll come out tomorrow, so you gotta hang on ‘till tomorrow’..
Annie had a difficult start in life, being only a puppy when rescued, she has grown up in kennels. She is now a super friendly, smart, healthy and exuberant girl, she is pleased to see everyone she comes into contact with and loves to cuddle. She is well-mannered, but sometimes her joie de vivre gets the better of her, causing her to jump up to say hello rather than waiting patiently for attention. However, with our expert support, she is improving all the time. She is a very affectionate and sweet girl, she is always happy and loves sunbathing.
Annie is very clever, she loose lead walks, has a great recall and focus, she knows sit, spin, go to crate, and much more. Annie is a delight to walk on the lead and fantastic fun off the lead when in our compounds, she loves a game and race around but is also happy to sniff, explore, and mooch about independently. She travels well in our vehicles, she is not destructive in her kennel and she is clean. She behaves well when joining the staff for lunch, sitting patiently with all four paws on the ground.
Annie has shown to be really good with other dogs, she is very friendly and well mannered. She walks well with the dogs she has interacted with here and could be rehomed with a male dog. Because we have no history of her interacting with children or cats she will be placed in an adult-only, cat-free home. She will need her own garden.
Annie is still an adolescent, and while she has demonstrated great resilience growing up in kennels, we have to be mindful that she will need a gentle introduction to the big wide world. Annie’s adopters will need patience and understanding to enable her successful transition into a loving home. As such, Annie’s expert team at Southridge will be available to support her move at every step of the way.
