Ruby came into our care because she was not happy in the environment she was in. Ruby was initially very frightened and hid all the time. Once she had settled she started to interact with the staff she knows the best. She responds to voices and has become really affectionate and enjoys attention. She is very easily startled and needs a very calm household, she is extremely nervous around people she doesn't know. She doesn't feel safe being picked up.

Ruby has shown signs that she really wants to bond and trust an owner. She is looking for a one or two member household only, with no other animals. She will need a good environment setting up with her own space and places to hide while she settles into a new home.

If you are looking for a special cat to help, have the right environment and have the time and patience to gain Ruby's trust, she will be a really loyal and affectionate cat. Ruby is ideally looking for a home with people already experienced with nervous cats.

We are not sure if she has ever had the opportunity to go outside. She may prefer to be predominantly indoors, although she has learnt to use a cat flap at the centre and enjoys sitting outside. She may need litter trays long term.
