Rufus and Tucker are absolute best friends, and that is why we are looking to rehome them together. Rufus is slightly more reliant on Tucker, than Tucker is on Rufus, although Rufus is the more confident of the two dogs. They curl up so beautifully together in their snuggly bed, where one goes the other goes. They are the dynamic duo!
Rufus and Tucker are true rescue dogs. In the last month their lives have changed beyond all recognition! They came from a house where there were over two hundred dogs, it was impossible to move without bumping into another dog! every aspect of their lives was compromised in some way but no longer!
.
The dogs were not caged, they existed as a large group moving between a number of small rooms. They were not housetrained and the result of which was that they lived, slept and fed in an environment that was full of faeces and urine. The dogs were covered in faeces, their coats so matted that they had to be totally clipped off. The dogs were fed on mass which meant that it was hard for the smaller, younger, weaker ones to get their fair share, the result of which was that some where really underweight..
You can imagine how hard living like this must have been for the dogs now think how much harder it was if they were partially blind which is the case for our Rufus. He can see a little but we have no way of knowing how much. (not that you would ever know when you see him running and playing in our grass compounds). We are not sure how he even survived but survive he did and now he ready for the next chapter in his life along with Tucker.
Now all we need is to find a lovely kind person to off to adopt them and continue their rehabilitation, this wont be a task it will be a joy!
The boys are learning to walk on a lead, and are making good progress, Tucker is an amazing ball player although he has not quiet grasped the concept of bring it back! Rufus does the most amazing Elvis impression when he is pleased to see you - he really smiles.
They could live with another dog and gentle children of ten years and over.
