Jack has had a very difficult start in life. He came into our care as part of a prosecution case after suffering physical abuse at the hands of his previous owner, and he has spent much of his young life in kennels. As a result, he can sometimes feel overwhelmed in unfamiliar situations or around people he doesn't yet fully trust. When he feels anxious, Jack may become excitable or a little "goofy" – this is simply his way of coping with uncertainty.

He is looking for patient and calm, understanding adopters who can recognise when he is feeling overwhelmed and give him the time, space and reassurance he needs to build confidence at his own pace. He deserves a home where he can learn that the world is a safe place and where his fun-loving personality can shine without fear or pressure. Having missed many important experiences during his early development, Jack will need gentle guidance, reward-based training, and plenty of encouragement as he continues to discover new things.
Jack will initially need someone who can be at home with him for most of the time while he settles in. Any time spent alone will need to be introduced very gradually, always at a pace he is comfortable with. He will also need a secure, private garden where he can safely relax, play and burn off some energy.
Jack is looking for an adult-only home, ideally with someone who has experience of Northern breeds and understands the typical characteristics and needs of Huskies. He is an energetic, intelligent boy who thrives on interaction and would love a home where his enthusiasm can be channelled into positive training, enrichment, and enjoyable activities that keep both his mind and body engaged.
To give Jack the very best chance of success, prospective adopters will need to live within approximately one to two hours of the centre, as he will benefit from several visits before going home to help him build trust and make the transition as smooth as possible.
​Jack has enjoyed some positive interactions with other dogs and we have seen how the company of other established dogs can help him feel confident in new situations. So we are looking for a home with other dogs to help guide him on his way. However he can be selective about his canine companions, therefore, applications from homes with existing dogs will be considered individually.
For the right person, Jack will be an incredibly rewarding companion. He is affectionate, funny, entertaining, and full of personality. Once he feels safe and secure, his wonderful character really begins to shine. If you have the time, commitment and understanding to help this special boy continue rebuilding his confidence, Jack could make an exceptional addition to your family.
When applying, please include as much information as possible about your experience with dogs, particularly high-energy or Northern breeds, as this will help us assess whether your home is the right match for Jack.
