About Me

Breed: Domestic Shorthair crossbreed
Colour: Grey
Age: 9 Years (approx)
Ref: ANI02202

Meet Koala, a beautiful cat with incredible eyes and a sensitive soul just waiting to be cherished.

Koala has experienced some big changes in his life. He came into our care after his owner sadly became ill, and he initially found cattery life very overwhelming. Because of this, he has spent the past few months in a calm and understanding foster home, where he has truly begun to blossom.

Koala is now fully integrated into his foster home and has the run of the house. He has grown hugely in confidence and now enjoys all the comforts of home life. He even sleeps on his fosterer’s bed, and if she sits down, even for just a few minutes he’s straight onto her lap, ready for a cuddle.

When Koala first arrived, he would spend most of his time hiding and was very unsure of people. With time, patience, and a gentle approach, he has learned to trust and now shows his affectionate, loving nature. He absolutely loves a snack (food is definitely the way to his heart!) and will happily come over for treats, chin scratches, and attention.

Koala has shown us that, with the right environment and understanding, he can overcome his worries and become a wonderfully sweet and devoted companion. He still needs a home that will allow him to settle at his own pace, but once he feels safe, he forms a very strong bond.

Due to his sensitive nature, Koala is looking for an adult-only home where he can be the only pet. Having his own room as a safe space to begin with, such as a spare room or quiet office where he can adjust gradually, will be essential.

We know Koala has so much love to give, and he is now ready for someone willing to offer him the patience and kindness he needs to continue thriving.

When applying, it’s really helpful if you can include as much detail as possible about the home you can offer Koala. As he is a complex cat who may need our team to drop him off to a new home, Koala's new home will need to be no more than 1 hour from the Taunton/Bridgwater area - please enquire if you're unsure of suitability due to distance as we are open to discussion.

If you are interested in adopting an animal from West Hatch RSPCA, please have a look on "ÅÝܽÊÓƵ" in the first instance. Once you have seen an animal you are interested in, you can apply easily online via the link to a google form at the bottom of their profile. Once we receive the application, it will be reviewed by a member of staff, and if you are a suitable match we will then make contact to discuss the animal further. This will be either by email initially or by phone. We will then ask you to email us photos of your home and garden, as well as ID. This continues to replace the homevisit that we would have carried out pre-covid. We can then make an appointment for you to come to the centre to meet your chosen animal before you commit to adoption.
