About Me

Breed: Crossbreed/Unknown crossbreed
Colour: Black
Age: 2 Years (approx)
Ref: ANI05211

Shadow is a young male collie x shepherd x husky. He was taken into care following mistreatment in his previous home.
Shadow can be anxious in new situations but is at heart, a friendly boy who wants to make friends and enjoy life. We are beginning to see Shadow come out of his shell and he is displaying an assortment of cheeky behaviours associated with the different breeds in his makeup. He likes ball play and fetch (typical of the collie and shepherd) but will also lose interest and wander off on his own exploring (typical of the husky). He can have a mischievous glint in the eye at the end of a run in the compound and turn catching him into a game. As with many collies and shepherds he forms strong bonds with people and takes confidence from them in slightly worrying situations. For example, he is anxious about getting into a car but if someone he knows is in the back seat, then he will creep in to sit on their lap. Shadow is looking for an active home as the only pet with owners who ideally have experience with nervous rescue dogs, preferably collies or similar. He really needs a secure garden and would prefer to live in a quiet location.

If you are interested in adopting an animal from West Hatch RSPCA, please have a look on "ÅÝܽÊÓƵ" in the first instance. Once you have seen an animal you are interested in, you can apply easily online via the link to a google form at the bottom of their profile. Once we receive the application, it will be reviewed by a member of staff, and if you are a suitable match we will then make contact to discuss the animal further. This will be either by email initially or by phone. We will then ask you to email us photos of your home and garden, as well as ID. This continues to replace the homevisit that we would have carried out pre-covid. We can then make an appointment for you to come to the centre to meet your chosen animal before you commit to adoption.
